Dr. Sean McNally's passion for plastic surgery developed in medical school at the University of North Carolina where he worked with trauma patients whose post-accident lives were returned to some sense of normalcy with the help of reconstructive surgery. Since completing his integrated residency and becoming a board-certified plastic surgeon, he has partnered with countless patients in Portland, OR to enhance their natural beauty and relieve pain using sophisticated surgical techniques. In that time, he has worked not only to help patients realize their aesthetic goals but also to educate each and every individual so that they are empowered to make the best decision for their health and lifestyle. Outside of his work at The Oregon Clinic, Dr. McNally enjoys hiking, riding bikes, and exploring Portland with his wife, Kathryn, and their dog, Ira.
Having grown up in New Jersey, Dr. McNally traveled the country to receive his education, earning his undergraduate degree from Cornell University before receiving his M.D. and Ph.D. in microbiology and immunology from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. He went on to finish his integrated residency in plastic surgery at the University of California Irvine where he trained in reconstructive and aesthetic procedures in multiple hospital systems, including the Newport Beach Surgery Center.
In addition to his university education, Dr. McNally is an American Board of Plastic Surgery board-certified plastic surgeon, having demonstrated his expertise in cosmetic and reconstructive procedures. He is also the 2012 recipient of the George F. Sheldon, M.D. Award from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and has been the recipient of UNC's University Cancer Research Fund Award (2011) and the Cancer Cell Biology Training Grant (2007).
Dr. McNally and his staff are always personable and professional. He is very knowledgeable and straight forward about what is going to happen in the surgery. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a doctor.
