This patient presented with concerns of excess upper eyelid skin as well as drooping of the eyelid margin due to eyelid muscle weakness. In her case, the drooping is called senile ptosis which is caused by stretching of the connective tissue of the muscle that elevates the upper eyelid known as the levator. We addressed her concerns with a combination of an upper blepharoplasty with levator advancement. In her postop picture at 2 months, you can see decreased excess eyelid skin as well as elevation of the margin of the upper eyelid.
